Camp Schedule and Fees

A Sing-a-Long in Progress The 2010 camp dates for each session are listed here. The fees cover all lodging, meals, supervision, and programs while at camp. Also included are all craft supplies, daily snacks and drinks, and all special camp events.

Summer Camp

Adventure Camp

Sessions 1A ( June 13-19), 3 (June 27-July 3), and 5 (July 18-24)

Ages 8-15 ~ Available in 3 different sessions (pricing varies -see chart)

Daily adventure activities are chosen by cabin groups, these activities include swimming, canoeing, mountain and trail biking, climbing wall and zip line, creek hikes, arts and crafts and archery as well as outdoor overnight campfires under the stars on the upper hill areas. Each cabin is encouraged to experience all of the activities throughout the week. Different cabins team together to form larger adventure groups creating stronger fellowship bonds. With adventure camp, youth are given many opportunities to develop good social ethics among peers as well as teamwork and leadership skills.

Leader-in-Training Program (LIT)

Session 1b ( June 13-19)

Grades 9 - 11

Learn to develop necessary skills for future leadership roles in a camp setting. Understand a counselor’s role in taking initiative, in decision making and in group leadership. Review and understand associated duties and responsibilities.

Learn how to set and attain group goals and identify personal strengths and talents that contribute to a well-balanced team of leaders. The low ropes experiential course and the climbing tower and zip line help to instill personal growth and confidence as well as teach teamwork.

Ready Set Camp!

Session 2 ( June 20-24)

Grades 1-6

A 4 day shorter session for younger campers who need to get acquainted with Waycross and feel comfortable with camping away from home. Included are many of the traditional activities. By day, counselors introduce campers to nature during wooded hikes, creek hikes and trips to the Enchanted Forest. At night, children sleep in assigned cabins with counselors in attendance. Afternoon swimming, arts and crafts and fun and games make Waycross a wonderful, home away from home, experience.

This session also coincides with Women's Week where guests may bring their kindergarten and preschool aged children to experience Waycross for the first time. Mothers stay with other women at the Conference Center for spiritual building sessions and craft projects while their children "join in the fun" with camp adventures. These youngest campers return to mom for help with every meal and at nighttime.

Creative Arts Camp

Session 4a (July 11-17)

Ages 8 - 15

Develop creative talent within, from creative song and story writing to fine art, singing and playing music. Bring along an instrument and learn about piano and guitar along with vocals. Work in the Arts and Craft Center with fine arts medium; draw, paint, sew, tie-dye and more! Take a creative break away from projects to enjoy traditional camp activities of swimming, hiking, biking, canoeing, climbing tower and zip line!

Wilderness Canoe Camp

Session 4b  (July 11-17)

Grades 7 - 10

Arrive at Waycross and prepare to embark on a 4 day, outdoor wilderness adventure! Experience nature to its fullest while paddling on beautiful Lake Monroe. Learn to master canoeing skills, such as proper teamwork for paddling, steering and canoe safety. Explore nature's wonders while living outdoors among the lakes surrounding hills. Meals will be cooked over open campfires and tents are pitched for sleeping in the serene areas around Lake Monroe.

Leader-in-the-Community Program (LIC)

Session 6  (July 25-31)

Grades 9 - 12 

Learn to develop the skills of the Servant Leader in outreach mission work through community service projects. Utilize your personal strengths and talents working side-by-side with others performing real community service projects for those in need. Past ventures have induced providing assistance for nursing homes, humane societies and Hurricane Katrina.

This year’s venture will include several local service projects (to be announced). Youth will stay on-site where they will learn to take direction and initiative from Service Leaders. All will share a sense of personal accomplishment by completing large tasks through teamwork and heartfelt spiritual growth from the joy of helping others.
