Ready, Set, CAMP! Session 2

Ready, Set, Camp!

June 24-28, 2018

Grades 1–8 (completed):

Ready, Set, Camp! is a shorter four day session for younger campers who need to get acquainted with Waycross and feel comfortable with camping away from home. Many of the traditional activities are included. By day, counselors introduce campers to nature during wooded hikes, creek hikes and trips to the enchanted Golliwop Forest. At night, children sleep in assigned cabins with counselors in attendance. Afternoon swimming, arts and crafts and fun and games make this session a wonderful, camp experience away from home. This session also coincides with Women's Week where guests may bring their kindergarten and preschool aged children to experience Waycross for the first time. Mothers stay with other women at the Conference Center for spiritual building sessions and craft projects while their children "join in the fun" with regular camp adventures.

Hickory Hill Wilderness Camp

July 15-21, 2018

Grades: 7-10 (completed)

Wilderness camp takes place on Hickory Hill and in the wilderness areas of Waycross. Campers don't sleep in cabins or participate in regular camp activities. Instead, campers learn wilderness skills, take turns cooking meals over a fire and discover ways to use the natural gifts of God to live in community while in the wilderness. The emphasis of Hickory Hill Wilderness Camp is to experience the wilderness and learn how to live in simple community with nature, each other and with God.
